How do we build? As a full service builder & General Contractor we offer two unique styles of building giving us an overall blend of product offering to match every home style and budget. Whichever way you choose, we bring the same Turn Key completeness to every home. From Building Permits to excavation, poured basement, interior, exterior, roofing, heating, electrical, plumbing and floor covering, we provide it all. In addition, if you are building in the country we can also have your septic system installed & well drilled. If your home site is in or near the city, we can install your municipal sewer & water system. We are never afraid of facing whatever it is that needs to be done on any given site to satisfy our customers. All you need to do is choose a plan from one of our sources of home packages and we take care of the rest. And if you can't find a plan, bring it to us, we can build it exactly how you want it.

If you are looking for conventionally built homes, using traditional construction techniques known as frame construction, we are a dealer & builder of custom Wausau Homes out of Wausau, Wisconsin. The Wausau History story originated as a dairy route in rural Marathon County Wisconsin. The Schuette Brothers used profits from that modest milk route to purchase a sawmill, where raw timbers were processed into framing lumber.

 

After the war, the brothers developed that sawmill into a one-stop building center, where contractors could purchase all of their materials for home construction from one source. With all the elements for home construction in place as their building center, the brothers tinkered with a revolutionary concept in home building. This pioneering concept became Wausau Homes Incorporated.

 

Since 1960, Wausau Homes has perfected a system of home building which has revolutionized the industry: Controlled construction. It's a system of finished components that can be easily transported and erected at the jobsite. The system is now widely used by hundreds of home builders because its value is not only in cost containment and speed, but also in quality control and engineering excellence. Integrating the technologies of computerization in architectural engineering and manufacturing, Wausau Homes can customize each house according to the individual home buyer's design.

An Established Business Grows a New Branch Golden Eagle Log Homes is a family business that grew from a successful building supply company. In 1966, Wally and Marlace Parmeter founded the Golden Eagle Building Center in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. With the knowledge gained from building conventional framed homes and an in-depth understanding of the building products industry, the Parmeters decided to pursue their dream of building a log home in which to raise their family.

 

Trees were individually selected from their own property and then carefully cut into logs and allowed to dry completely for one full year. Construction then began on the first Golden Eagle Log home, an event that did not go unnoticed by onlookers. No sooner had the Parmeters' moved in, than they were approached by others who were impressed by the quality craftsmanship and materials used in the home. This led to a small side business which began providing several custom log home packages a year to appreciative clientele.

 

It was in 1986, that Wally and Marlace decided to pursue their love of log construction by officially founding Golden Eagle Log Homes. The boys embarked on a busy time of assembling the necessary land, building the necessary shop space and purchasing and installing the required machinery.

 

During the day the boys ran the thriving building center and in the evening manufactured log homes, long into the night. In these days, the company "board" meetings consisted of sitting at the family picnic table under a clear blue Wisconsin sky. Their dedication was so strong that sales from their "night job" soon surpassed those of the building center.

A Second Generation of Craftsmen Wally and Marlace retired in 1997, but not before making sure that the business was left in capable hands. Today, Golden Eagle Log Homes is owned by their sons Jay and Tod Parmeter.

The company produces over 130 log homes a year. Every one of them, delivered with care, attention-to-detail and personal service. Golden Eagle's success comes from a dedicated group of people devoted to the time honored tradition of quality workmanship.

 

From the very beginning, the company has enjoyed continued growth, but the principle on which it all began remains the same - to offer superior log homes at fair and affordable prices.
